Horizon client OR Browser - Better?

So I have Always ASSUMED that the Horn client was better, in all ways, to use than a browser (IE, Chrome, FF. Edge) but is it?  Does it have any advantages other than being already installed and having the ability to put a PC in Kiosk mode to simplify the user experience? Does the client perform better, render better, use resources differently?

All input, even a guess or experience is welcome!

I prefer to use the Horizon Client as my primary means of access. I like the advanced configuration capabilities (PCoIP or Blast for example) that come with using the Horizon client. I will admit it is handy to leverage the HTML 5 client in cases where the Horizon client gets messed up for some reason.
