Could you please remove the VC from VMware View and add it back? Also restart all your broker services and let us know the results.

Check your time and time-zone settings, have seen some weird thing going on since daylight-savings time kicked in last Sunday.

View is querying AD for user details and is getting back a type of ADSTYPE_PROV_SPECIFIC (11) for the canonicalName attribute. We'd normally expect it to be a string type. This suggests that there's some odd issue when querying ldap data on the domains - can you confirm the domain trust setup you have, and confirm that the machine account for the broker has read access to ldap?

I had the same issue when trying to entitle users, it would not let me add them.  We had one of our AD controllers go off line, so not sure if it was still looking for it.  I did remove the AD server from my Time Config on the Hosts and did a full reboot of my View Environment.  Shut down all the Connection servers, rebooted vCenter and then powered each connection server back on.  This cleared my issue with the Unknown Type 11 for User Name on the Entitlements page.
