Hello,
After 45 minutes of trawling VMware's website and various documentation I'm unable to find a list of guest OS's supported by Horizon View.
Can someone point me in the right direction, or let me know if Linux guests (specifically RehHat / Centos 6) are supported by Horizon View? (This is as the running OS sent to the remote desktop, not the OS running the client app.)
Thanks
Nick
VMware Horizon View - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
AFAIK it supports Windows 7 and 8 (From recent release). And Also XP and Vista which i have never seen people using and anyway the support for XP has ended.
So vastly its windows 7 and 8.
Hi Nick
Have a look at the VMware Horizon View Installation guide: http://pubs.vmware.com/view-52/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/horizon-view-52-installation.pdf (chapter 2, page 15 in the current doc edition)
We currently do not support Linux Guests.
We do support (and many customers still use) WinXP and Vista.
Full details in the above pdf including supported OS bit-ness (ie x86 and x64).
hope that helps
cheers

Good to know you 'Still' support XP and Vista.
I wonder who said you guys don't support them
Thanks Peter. Are there any plans to add Linux Guest support in future do you know?
Thanks
Nick
I can't comment on future roadmap in this community and I don't know anyway if anything is planned for this.
I know a few folks would be interested in this having seen a few threads in the forums, but it would be great if you could feed your requirements into VMware either via this community, or any other comms channel you have. For example, what sort of features would you need the agent to support, what distros etc.

Ok will do. We're meeting with Nvidia re GRID so can discuss with them too.
Thanks
Nick
Is there any update to the roadmap regarding supported OS's for the view client? More specifically centos/RHEL distros?
VMware typically doesn't discuss roadmap futures on the forums. Your best option is to schedule a roadmap session with your local resource.
