Hi team,

We are currently setting up a Ubuntu 18.04 VDI desktops with NVIDIA vGPU attached to it.As per the below documentation,it says that "vGPU graphics capabilities are not supported on instant-clone desktop pools created from Linux desktops. ".

Does this mean, Provisioning desktops using Instant clone type for  Linux/Ubuntu 18.04  with vGPU profile are not be supported

Reference :https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon-7/7.11/linux-desktops-setup/GUID-9DFB6F0D-B575-4A79-996F-0...

Horizon version:Horizon View 7.11
  VDI desktop version: Ubuntu 18.04
NVIDIA graphics card : NVIDIA RTX 6000
  Vcenter:6.7 U3

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,

Jonathan.

You are correct. vGPU is not yet supported with linux based instant clones. If you want to use vGPU powered linux VDIs, you need to stick to dedicated VMs.

vGPU is supported on the Linux distributions and NVIDIA graphics cards listed on Supported Products :: NVIDIA Virtual GPU Software Documentation
