Horizon View Client DNS Madness

Greetings - My Horizon View Client won't connect unless I turn off the SSL certificate check.

I can load the View splash page in Chrome without any SSL warnings. It works perfectly, whether I use the FQDN hostname or the FQDN CNAME.

The cert is a DigiCert wildcard which matches the FQDNs. The friendly name is set to "vdm".

I'm using Horizon View Client 4.2.0 build-4336726 to connect to View 5.1.0-704644.

The connection server external URL is set to the internal FQDN hostname.

I can ping the View connection server hostname, and its FQDN hostname, and the responses come back as expected.

I can ping the CNAME, and the FQDN CNAME, too, and both respond with the FQDN hostname.

Sure, I'd like for the non-FQDNs to work, too, but that can wait for for another day. Right now I'd be happy if the FQDNs worked.

What's likely going on here?

Thank you!

The friendly name configured as "vdm" is correct. Could you check f you are able to export the private key? if the option is grayed out then the certificates are not imported correctly causing the issue. Please refer to When connecting to a View virtual machine using Blast, SSL Session is invalid (2088354).
