Horizon View 7 Voice lag

Hi All,

We are currently reviewing Horizon View to use it in our support department in remote office. Our support department also uses cloud based call center (we can't use it directly on thin client, because of "security" so we run it inside of linked clone) - the voice is clear, but there is a noticeable cca 1 sec lag when agent is communicating with a customer (like there is an 1 second silence before customer starts responding).

Setup:

Horizon View is version 7.6

Thin Client is Windows 10 based

Communication is via usb headset

Linked Clones have 2 cpu's and 8gb of memory with RTAV feature enabled.

Does anyone have any recommendation if this lag can be decreased ?

Thank you,

Mitja

You need to make sure RTAV is being leveraged and it's not sending the USB headset audio over the USB channel. You can do this by making sure you are selecting the VMware Virtual Microphone and VMware Virtual Webcam devices. You can verify this by following the steps in the documentation Ensuring That Real-Time Audio-Video Is Used Instead of USB Redirection.

Are you positive that your thin clients support RTAV?

Hi Ben,

thank you for your reply. Our configuration is correct, but the testing environment wasn't optimal. We simulated "remote office" using AnyConnect VPN to main office, which apparently affected voice lag. Once we tested the voice lag from the remote office via s2s tunnel, the voice lag was barley noticeable.
