Horizon View 6 design

Hello,

We are actually planning to install Horizon View 6 and I have a question about the design.

We actually have a vCenter server and a cluster for virtual server machines.  Can I create a new cluster for virtual desktop machines in the same vCenter or it would be better to have a new vCenter for virtual desktops?

Where should I put the View composer server, in the virtual server cluster or in the virtual desktop cluster?

Do you have any advice, web sites or documentation about installing Horizon View 6?

Thank you.

Hi,

there's a big VMware whitepaper for planing a View environment:

how many vCenter servers, hosts, clusters etc you need heavily depends on the size of your planned installation.

Design decisions like this are dependant upon your own requirements.  But as a general rule I do tend to have a dedicated vCenter for my View Desktops, as this enables me to have my Desktop composer service on the same machine as my vCenter server without causing interruption to my Server based environment, also it give me better control of my environment as my dedicated vCenter is just deploying Desktop devices, and the host under it as getting optimal TPS savings. etc.
