VMware announcing Horizon 8
Horizon 8: Unleashing the Power of Secure Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Deployments with a Modern Platform
Any information about Persistent disk for Instant Clone?
Instant Clone desktops don't support persistent disks. Users can use network shares or App Volumes to store persistent user data. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon-7/7.2/com.vmware.horizon.virtual.desktops.doc/GUID-D7C0150...
I know that Instant Clones does not support persistent disk! My question is whether it is possible on VMware roadmap to implement persistent disk to instant clones?
Its unlikely to get a forward looking response from vmware anyone can say one way or the other. Why not look at fslogix, I think most Microsoft licenses cover its use for free.
This was just published this morning
Persistent disks are deprecated in Horizon 8 (2006) and will be removed in a future version. There is new guidance published today on migrating from legacy technologies such as Persistent Disk. I have also provided a script to migrate both Profile and non-Profile data from persistent disks as part of the migration guidance.
