Horizon 7 Disaster Recovery Solution

Hey all,

I wanted to start a discussion on this and see what peoples take is one this.

I am starting to build out a Horizon Enterprise 7 environment and am considering a Cloud Pod Architecture or something like Zerto For DR.

This is in case something happens to one site i can redirect users to another site, or do a site failover w/ a DR solution. W/ Cloud pod do i have two external/internal URL's or connection servers and if one goes down everything just redirects to the other connection server? Does Cloud pod Architecture require a Load Balancer?

Site A : Horizon Environment

Site B : Horizon Environment

Right now we maintain two independent Horizon 7 environments that mirror each other including the pools. We have 1000 linked clones and 500 full desktops. Whenever a parent VM is updated at our primary site we clone it to or DR site and recompose the pool. We leverage array replication for our full desktops and would have to manually recover them (Leveraging SRM or Zerto for this would make life easier but we are working on converting everyone to linked clones instead.

We are planning to add Cloud Pod Architecture to simplify entitlements and give us the ability to redirect select pools. We are then going to add F5 BIG-IP DNS/GTM so we have a single namespace for all internal and external clients.
