Horizon 7.5 Disabling USB Redirection

Hi!

I have Horizon 7.5.

All very fine, now i must disable Disabling USB Redirection for all device. I want to do this through group policy.

I load VMware-Horizon-Extras-Bundle-4.8.0-8519436.zip and import to my domain controller.

I go to

VMware View Agent Configuration/View USB Configuration/Exclude All Devices = Enable

and i apply this policy to vm desktop pool.

But the USB flash redirection in the VM still works!

I see that the policy worked correctly.

In registry in VM i see the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\VMware, Inc.\VMware VDM\Agent\USB\ExcludeAllDevices=True

But the USB flash redirection in the VM still works again!

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Curious if you had received an answer to this? My guess would be you have conflicting Group policies? Or the policy is not getting applied.

Alternatively you can block the ports needed for USB redirection. We disableUSB redirection externally by blocking TCP 32111 from our UAG to the Horizon Agent (The source will depend on your architecture) but still allow it internally.

When you install the Horizon View Agent one of the features is "USB Redirection" you can choose to not install it and that will resolve your issue.
