Horizon 6 client hanging when trying to connect to a connection server

Hi

We have had Horizon 6 for around a year but recently we have been advised of an issue with the horizon client hanging after logging in. (This is an intermittent issue)

We use a single sign on solution which authenticates with AD called imprivata which automates access to vmware view.

For reference, here is the part where it hangs:

We have windows servers acting as connection brookers, which is load balanced by a DNS round robin.

VMware support have recommended reinstalling the client, enabled PCoIP in the horizon console but this hasent resolved our issue.

The issue still remains intermittent but its impacting on the service and the department are close to pulling to entire solution due to this issue.

Help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Have you ran a Wireshark trace to identify identify the interface from where it is rejecting the request, or reviewing the logs across all the interfaces.

To further isolate you can check port  4001 status when the issue occurs: Documentation for VMware Horizon 7 version 7.0

Check the load balancer logs and to see if the java heap sizing is an issue: Documentation for VMware Horizon 7 version 7.0
