Hide menubar on Linux

I'm running Lubuntu 14 and I have the latest View client installed.  I configured several settings with the view-preferences file in ~/.vmware

I need to disable the menu bar to prevent hard disconnect.  I have tried the --nomenubar CLI option in my launch script, and I have tried the view.nomenubar = "TRUE" option in the preferences file.  Neither have worked.

What is the next option to try on this thing?  I can't find much documentation out there for linux.

Thanks for your help!

I was launching with a script that had the --file flag.  That config file wasn't in use so I took out the --file flag and added the --nomenubar flag.  Settings are done inside the view-preferences file in ~/.vmware  Hope that helps someone,
