Hi. We are doing a POC using ESX 4.02 for the backend and VM Workstation 7, VM View 4.5.
We have our standard Windows XP SP3 image for the desktop and it is working fine when launched through the vm client. We have been asked if possible to boot from a pc with no OS installed and have it connect to the virtual desktop. I don't have experience in this area and was wondering if there was a link to a tutorial/paper or if someone has advice on the best way to accomplish this. This is my first post so if I don't have enough information in this post I will get what is required.
Thanks
you could do it with LiveCD, there are few options available:
Thinstation (live cd linux with vmware view open client) + RDP only @ http://www.thinstation.org/
VDI Blaster of Devon IT (live cd linux with PCOUP support) RDP/PCOIP only @ http://www.devonit.com/software but it is paid software
2X CloudOS client. @ http://www.2x.com/ccos/

Thanks, Thinstation worked.
FYI: I moved the thread to the VMware View forum.
