I have 100+ Virtual XP desktops running with Buslogic SCSI Drivers.
I have learned from this Community that LSI drivers are better.
For some reason i just can't get the LSI drivers to work. Even though I am installing the drivers Setup still can not see the hard disk.
Heres what i'm doing:
1. Download LSI 20320-R Driver for XP from their Website =
2. Use Winimage to inject the contents of the xp_x86 folder into an flp image. Save the image as LSILogic.flp use Winscp to save it to ESX datastore
3. Use WinSCP to copy an XP SP2 ISO to the ESX datastore
4. Create a new VM and choose XP 32 as the OS that will be installed.
5. Edit Settings of the new VM and attach the flp and ISO. Set Boot order to CD, Removable Devices, Hard drive
6. Power ON VM, Press F6 When Prompted
7. Press S to Specify Driver, Press Enter to accept the Driver
8. Press Enter to Setup Windows XP now.
9. Get Error stating that Setup could not find any Hard disks.
Am I missing something here? Any ideas?
P.S. See attached ScreenShots.
Thanks
Check this discussion. There is a link to download a different version of the LSI drivers. This did the trick for me.
Good Luck!

I have also used the vmscsi-1.2.0.2.flp located under /vmimages/floppies to setup my XP machines and had great sucess.

we typically use BusLogic for all of our XP VM's. I haven't attempted to use the LSI Driver, but you may want to try the link below.

Cool,
Thanks VMRoyale. The Post in that discussion by Will F1 cotained an LSI driver that worked. I wonder why so many forums discussions point to the original drivers I used but they don't work.
Anywho, many thanks
It looks like this is still possibly open?
I was looking for the driver after I aligned the cylinders for the SCSI-LSI-Paralell driver and this worked

I used the P21 version.
