Have you had successful international Horizon VDI deployments?

We have been testing deploying VDI to some of our remote sites. We are in IL, USA an have an office in Germany we've been testing with. Horizon infrastructure all onsite in IL. We have an 200Mbit internet connection between the sites. If they are WFH home deployed a UAG to connect to but similar desktop experience between the two connection methods.

Seems we can't get over the hump of poor quality Teams, Webex, Zoom, etc meetings. Also troubles with recognition of USB devices like 3Dconnexion CAD mice. The latency between offices is consistently at 140ms which is under the 250ms that VMware recommends keeping it under... but problems still exist.

Moving to Horizon 8 seemed to help a little bit especially with collab tools but still getting complaints of poor video and audio quality. We've had most success with persistent desktops.

I'm just curious of others have tried deploying on-prem VDI internationally and if it has been successful.

I saw some cases like yours. Under the slow network(e.g RTT is around 180ms), some remote features are not work very well. From customers side they will check how to improve their network condition. From VMware side, they are doing the performance tuning on the specified remote feature like Clipboard redirection.

Could you share how you delivery 3Dconnexion CAD mice to the Horizon VDI environment? Thanks.
