Hi gurus
I need to expand the hard disk on a VDI but for some reason it is grayed out
turn on or off the VDI state does not change
I thought it could be that the machine had a SS but no it did not
what else could be happening from not allowing me to expand the Hard disk
Thanks

Are you sure? The Snapshot Manager is not always reliable. Pleae check the virtual disk's file name in the VM's settings. If it is s.th. like <vmname>-00000x.vmdk, then the VM has one, or more active snapshots. To get rid of snapshots which do not show up in the Snapshot Manager use the "Delete All" option. In case it is grayed out, create a temporary snapshot, which will enable it.

Most of the time this is because the VM which you are trying to expand the hard disk has a snapshot. Check for any existing snapshot on that VM and if there are any, delete them. Then after you'll be able to expand the hard disk.
