HP T610 WES8 x64 and Lync VDI plugin

I'm trying to configure a HP T610 thinclient with WES x64 pre-installed. I have succesfully installed the Lync VDI plugin (x86) and have added the necessary registry keys:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync]

"ConfigurationMode"=dword:00000001"

"ServerAddressInternal"="lyncsrv2013.lync.local"

"ServerAddressExternal"="Access.lync.local"

Also the VMware View Client 5.4 (x64) is installed.

The VDI machine is Windows 7 SP1 x64 with Office 2013 x64 and Lync 2013 x64. When I login to Lync, Lync is trying to connect local devices, but it never can.

This configuration should be able to work (Tech preview mentioned here: Troubleshooting: MS Lync 2013 with View Integration » myvirtualcloud.net).

Has anyone been able to get WES8 x64 to work with View and the Lync VDI plugin? Or do I need to installe WES7 x86 on the Thinclient?

It's working now on the WES8 thin client as well. Domain CA certificate was already imported on the thinclient, but the timezone and time was not correct on the Thinclient. After correcting this, the Lync VDI plugin is now working.

Can you verify the following?

1) "When I login to Lync, Lync is trying to connect local devices, but it never can."  Does this mean that your Lync 2013 client running inside your VM does not even register to the Lync server?

Can you also verify it works when using a regular Windows 7 SP1 client desktop?  This will indicate whether it is a configuration error or something else.

No, Lync client within VDI is working (chat and presence), but the little icon with the 2 computers in the below-right corner is giving the message: Lync is trying to use your local audio and video devices.

On the local client, I can see in the registry that the user who logged in the VDI-session is mentioned in the key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\LyncVdiPlugin\ServerSipUri and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\LyncVdiPlugin\ServerUsername.

I also checked on Windows 7 SP1, same issue.

We have tested with both Windows 7 SP1 and WIndows 8 clients.  There is a configuration issue in your environment.  Have you configured EnableMediaRedirection?

Also be sure to disable USB Redirection.  The Webcam should be kept local to the client endpoint.

After importing the certificate from Lync, it's now working on Windows 7. I will try tomorrow on the WES8 thin client.
