Hi All,
I want to verify that a DL380 Gen9 can host vGPU and GPU pass-through for vSphere 6 and Horizon View 6.1. I am able to see on the VMware Compatibility Guide that the DL380 Gen9's are on the HCL for vSphere 6. I want to confirm if this HCL also covers vGPU and pass-through. On XenServer, there are separate HCL's for XenServer itself, vGPU on XenServer, and GPU pass-through on XenServer.
Please let me know how I can confirm this or if there is an official support statement that clarifies my questions.
Thanks!
Richard
Check if helps: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=vgpu
Anyway, after click on one of results, the following note is returned:
Notes:
- For Virtual Graphics Processing Unit compatibility, please refer to the partner support page to ensure your VMware certified server (Refer to VMware Server VCG) is compatible with your VMware certified graphics card for Virtual Graphics Processing Unit. Please also ensure you have the appropriate support agreement for your product.
- For the list of supported servers, please refer http://www.nvidia.com/object/enterprise-virtualization-where-to-buy.html”
Thanks Richardson. It looks like it is directing you to the "partner" website to confirm compatibility. HP's site shows compatibility for vSphere 6 but nothing GPU-specific. I reached out to an HP solutions architect to get some further clarification. I'll post what I find here.

I have heard from HP product management that the HCL for vGPU and pass-through are approximately 2 weeks away.
Nice and thanks for the feedback.
