Guest Windows XP OS prompting to install SCSI Driver when using LSI Logic Parallel controller

In following the document Optimizing Windows XP for VDI Applied Best Practices by EMC

"Performance of the guest OS can be improved by using the LSI Logic Parallel controller."

We are running a persistent pool and when the user data disk is attached (on first logon or post recompose) Windows prompts for the driver to be installed and requires Admin privileges. The driver is in the system32 folder although that makes no difference.

Has anyone else run into this and is there a work around that I am not aware of?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums. I've found this thread, http://communities.vmware.com/message/1424330, which references the same problem and was able to work around it by using a signed driver. Hopefully it will help you out.

Thanks for your response.  In reviewing the other discussion that seems like a potential work around.  I'll have to do some testing in our environment.  Just not the total fix I was hoping for.  Again I appreciate the direction.
