Folder redirection, streamed thinapps starting slow?!?

We are using a file server for storing the redirected folders and the thinapps for streaming to floating view 4.5 desktops. When we are starting for example a thinapped SAP GUI it takes 12 to 20 seconds if folder redirection is enabled. Without folder redirection the SAP GUI gets up in 6 seconds. So nearly all streamed apps double time.

Any ideas to improve the startup times of streamed thinapps in a floating desktop environment without loosing the personal settings?

We tried to put the file server on a SSD for testing, but this did not gets a second. So there is no I/O problem on the file server.

Hope someone can help...

what about the network speed? if streamed is slow, why not choose the local install option.

Does not improve the start time because with folder redirection enabled the %appdata% goes to to the file server. Any other ideas for floating desktops with personalization?

See my first posting, SAP GUI from 10 to 20 seconds (nearly every streamed ThinApp doubles start time). We are now using roaming profiles instead of folder redirection, but this extends login time. So, until now we did not have a good solution for are view Desktops (only some new problems...).

Is this seen only with view desktops? Do you see a better performance with normal desktops?

We did not use folder redirection oder roaming profiles with our physical desktops and did not test it.

We can isolate and find the root issue if you could test it on a physical desktop.
