Hi,
We are running VMware View 4 with linked clones from a master image/replica in a proof of concept.
Users do not have Administrative Rights on their View desktops.
We have a requirement that needs to allow users to create file types and assoicate them with specified applications that are locally installed on the image. The option to do this as a standard user is greyed out - it is not when logged in as a local Admin.
I have done some digging and all I can find is the 'NoFileAssoicate' registry on HKLM and HKCU set to 0
I have made the suggested changes and rebooted the View desktop but no success. I am wondering if this is a common theme in View or is there some configuration change that I have missed an need to make in order to enable this feature?
If you need any more information please drop me a note.
Cheers,
Paul.
PS We are using a separate user data disk (D drive) to store the user profiles so this is stopping me creating these associations before creating the image and copying them into the Default User profile that is stored on the C drive.
