Evaluating Horizon

Hello,

Looks like "View" and "Horizon" are the same product, correct?

I am looking to evaluate the products (besides using the hosted lab).  From reading the installation requirements, can somebody confirm how many servers do I need to start out with.  So far, looks like l need a minimum of 2 servers.

1)  View Server

2) Sql Server

Thanks,

TT

This is a nice guide to help with the evaluation.   You will definitely need a View connection server and a vCenter server.    Then depending on how you have things setup you could utilize a SQL server to house the vCenter and composer database, if your using composer.

What if we are using vCenter Server Appliance.  It won't be any issue implementing with Composer?  I am just doing some preliminary reading to determine the scope of the test.

It doesn't matter which vCenter Server edition (Windows or Appliance) you are using. The Composer can be installed on a separate Windows machine.

Regarding the number of servers, please keep in mind that you may also need to setup a KMS server for Windows activations.

If you wan to evaluate the horizon view, you need the below servers mandatory

View Connection Server

View Security Server

View Composer Server

vCenter Server with atleast one ESXi hypervisor

One Client OS for Master Image to create the Desktop Pools.

Then it depends up on your requirement, might you need more servers.
