Hi good Afternoon

I am trying to install VDM 2 ( VMware-vdmconnectionserver-2.1.0-596.exe) on virtual machine (vmware workstaton 6). this virtual machine is a windows 2003 SP1 and joined to a windows 2003 DOMAIN.

during the installation, (installing as admin) i get this error message Error 1920. Service VMware VDM Connection Server (WSNM) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

any suggestions??

This sounds like a group policy setting to limit service control to a specific subset of users - can you confirm this with the domain admins? Additionally, there should be install log files in the user's "local settings\temp" folder named vminst.log and vmmsi.log.
