Is it possible to allow particular vm's or users to copy & paste between their local mode desktop and their own machine?
Reading the admin guide on pg 219 "...for security reasons, you cannot copy and paste text or system objects such as files and folders between
the local system and the View desktop" but I thought it could be possible because of this kb article http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1026437 to modify the vm settings and recompose the pool based off a new snapshot.
If I access the vm in a vSphere console after the changes I can copy & paste but once deployed as a local mode desktop "copy & paste" is once again unavailable.
Is it possible to configure the vm or the view pool so the setting applied to the individual vm overrides any view specific setting or would enabling copy & paste on the hosts involved allow local mode desktops to copy & paster
I'm not sure how to fix the issue you're running into, but I wonder if the version of VMware Player(?) that View is using for Local Mode has that restriction built in, in which case settings on the VM likely won't make a difference.
I can understand the security reason for disabling it but if vSphere can be altered to allow it on a per VM and/or per host basis I would have thought view would follow suit
This cannot be done in current version of view ..
