Enable Touch ID authentication

I've installed Horizon 6.2 and the 3.5 IOS client, but I can't seem to find how to enable or configure Touch ID authentication. How do I enable it?

You enable it via the Biometric authentication on the View connection server.    There is a section on it in the View admin guide page 61.

I'm having issues getting this to work as well. I went through the document and set the BioMetricsTimeout and clientCredentialCacheTimeout to -1 as shown below (and hit OK Smiley Happy all the way out). Is there any more configuration required on the connection server?

clientconfig.PNG

I then closed the horizon app on my iphone, relaunched it and made sure i was logged out of any servers. I connected to the connection server and put in my password and was able to connect to my desktop but never given any option for using touchid.  Is there any config that has to be done on the device side? I did notice that under Settings -> Touch ID & Passcode on my iphone that it only has "Use Touch ID For"

iPhone Unlock

Apple Play

iTunes & Apple Store

but there does not appear to be a way to add any other application for that.

Here is the IOS client documentation, https://www.vmware.com/pdf/horizon-view/horizon-client-ios-document.pdf.    It says you must have iPhone 5s, 6, or 6 Plus.

Hi

I was able to get this working by importing my root CA ssl cert into my iPhone6 using the Horizon Client v3.5. Added the values to to Pae-ClientConfig same as your screenshot.

Export your root cert as x509 .cer format, email it to yourself and when you open the attachment on your iPhone/iPad it will go through an install process.

After that I was was able to login with username / password first. The subsequent login then asked if I wanted to use Touch ID, enable and you are prompted for your fingerprint.

Cheers

Kevin
