Topic Name : Silent Installation Properties for Horizon Agent
Publication Name : Setting Up Published Desktops and Applications in Horizon 7
Product/Version : VMware Horizon 7/7.12
Question :
Horizon Agent Silent Installation Options and Interactive Custom Setup Options has HTML5MMR as a Paramert for the install. This is in valid and errors. After cracking open the install file its I can only see a different one which might be the new name and its called FLASHMMR
Hi GaryMclean
I would like to update you that The documentation is absolutely correct.
Beginning with Horizon Agent 7.10, the HTML5 Multimedia Redirection custom setup option was actually removed and HTML5 Multimedia Redirection is installed by default. So there is no need to specify it .Also, the product documentation for 7.9 marks HTML5MMR as non-default installation, whereas 7.10 and 11 do not.
Hence if you will try to force 'HTML5MMR' parameter from 7.10 onwards, it will fail which is expected.
The next step will be to just apply the HTML5 Multimedia Redirection group policy settings.
System Requirements for HTML5 Multimedia Redirection
Evidence:
If you will run the interactive installer, you will not find the option 'HTML5MMR' anymore starting 7.10 agent:
Silent Installation Properties for Horizon Agent doc for 7.10 shows HTML5MMR as blank , which means it is installed bydefault.
Silent Installation Properties for Horizon Agent doc for 7.9 shows HTML5MMR as 'No' which means it needs to be installed manually using silent installation property HTML5MMR:
The best way to provide feedback to the documentation team is by doing this from the Feedback pane on the documentation page itself.
