Difficulty Installing VMWare Horizon Client - "Install Failed" - How to fix?

Hi all,

Trying to install VMWare Horizon Client on a machine, am only given the "Install Failed" prompt.

I've attempted doing a full install, and a custom install without HTML 5.0: the log file is attached.

What version of Windows are you installing to?

Looking at the log I see this

We're installing to Win 10 Pro, using the .exe from this location:

What account are you using for the install? Local admin or domain account with run-as-admin?

Ok, that's pretty typical tho I have seen cases where that has issues.

Can you try logging on with the local administrator and try that?

If that doesn't work what support do you possibly have that you can open a GSS ticket and upload the logs to them?

looks like it is having trouble installing USB arbitration drivers. What if you deselect everything besides the basic install?

Try right clicking on one of the USB hubs and looking at the driver details. If usbfilter.sys is listed then open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} and delete the UpperFilter, usbfilter pair.

Reboot the machine and try the installation.

See attached: trying to do the most basic customized install. I attached the larger log as well. No dice on the USBfilter.sys file either.
