Difference between VDI and VDM

Hi, I am new to VMware View. I downloaded the evaluation version of Vmware View also. But then I read about VDM on the site which is same as VDI. I wanted to know the difference between VDI and VDM. Is there any combined package of VDI and VDM?

VMware View used to be called VMwarew VDM

VDM stands for Virtual Desktop Manager

VDI stands for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.

Which is why its says VMware View ( VMware VDI)

Actually, we need to create virtual desktops on Netapp storage. Our customer said he needs VDI. What should be the right thing and if you have any installation/admin guide links available.

Welcome to the forums, the first thing is that VDI is not a product it is a paradigm It relates to the delivery of Virtual Desktops to end users, this is also covers Server Based Computing and Blade Workstations. VDM however, is the product name for the previous version of VMware's brokering software. the name is now VMware View.
