Desktop Virtualization with vSphere Desktop and Horzion View Std. Add-On

Hello together,

I'm thinking about a special construction to cost effectively licenses a new Horizon Std. Cluster.

Do you think it's possible to correctly license 200 concurrent users with the following licenses:

200x vSphere Desktop Licenses

200x Horizon Std. Add-on

There are no additional vSphere licenses in the infrastructure.

Thanks in advance

You will also need to have vCenter licenses if you intend to have any type of provisioning.

Hello Linjo,

thank you for response, you're right that i have to think about a vCenter.

But the discrepancy i see in this scenario is that Horizon Std. Add-On are for implementing into an existing ESX infrastructure.

In my opinion that means that i have to(if don't want to buy the bundles) buy some vSphere licenses and additional the Horizon Add-On.

-> This could be a really cost intensive scenario

The alternative i've thought about is to buy some vSphere Desktop licenses to virtualize the infrastructure(only for desktop virtualization) and put the Horizon Add-Ons onto them.

If i only look into the technical aspect, this is working, but if think about the license rights, i don't know if it's allowed.

Thanks in advance
