Now this is a "How long is a peice of string question?" Sizing is much more than just processor, but I suspect that you know that Smiley Happy

firstly what is your processor - single core/dual core/Quad Core or Hex core?

secondly what is your core speed?

thirdly what is the workprofile of your VDI guest.

a machine that is just doing Word, and maybe a little bit of Excel. will need alot less resources thant one that is doing Powerpoint, Visio etc.

I have found that for the first set I can easily get 11 Guests per core without degregation but of the latter more intensive ones only 6

Have you taken a look at the View documentations/best practices and reference architecture guides? There is quite a bit of information in the following documentations and you can always get assistance from VMware on best practices in sizing out your environment.

Here are some good documentations to look at:

What is everyone using to measure degradation inside of the VM? We have used VirtualCenter for a look into resource utilization but I was looking for something that reported more on application performance inside the VM.
