Desktop Pool resource settings

Hi,

I'm playing with View 6.0, and have a simple question.

I`m creating a Desktop pool, and the selection vCenter settings I must choose the datastore for the following

Linked clones datastore

Replica disk datastore

When I choose these, will it impact any other vms that are on these datastore, i mean do i need a "empty" datastore? I guess it will not interfere with the other vms on that store, but just to be sure Smiley Happy

Thanks for reply

They do not need to be empty and should not interfere with the other vm:s stored on the datastores unless the vm:s have the same names.

Depends on your definition of "impact" of course - any activity is going to put contention on the datastore resource so you can expect performance loss from your other VMs if the limits of the storage are being hit during use or provisioning. If you're just worried about data loss then as Linjo said there's no problem there.
