I am getting this error message when creating the VM View Desktop Pool. Anybody knows what causing this error?
Error: "View Composer agent initialization state error (-65535): View Composer agent is not installed in the master VM (waited 0 seconds)"
VM Composer Agent is installed and the OS is Windows 7 64-bit.
Please advice.
Thank you.
What agent did you install? 32 or 64? I don't care which one you installed, but whichever one you did, try the other. Make sure you are using the latest build.

64-bit. yes loaded the latest version.
the parent machine is a Windows7 64bit
Try uninstalling and reinstalled the Agent, then take a new snap and see if you can provision it.

I figures this out and thank for the help.
Something to do with Windows 7 setup.
Hi,
I am currently having the same problem you have had.
Could you give me some advice on what you did to fix it?
thanks
Can you detail out the error you are having?
I am currently Evaluating VMware View and Vcenter.
I have installed Vcenter and Connection Server on seperate Windows 2008 sp2 VM's
I have configured them as per the Admin Guide and i am able to successfully automate a Desktop Pool using full virtual machines.
I am now trying to setup Linked-Clone Desktop Pools.
I have created a new Windows 7 64-bit VM.
I have a problem in that when i try to install VMware View Agent, i do not have the option for View Composer Agent and i think this is my problem. (see attached VMware_agent.jpg)
I carry on regardless, and install, once completed, and gone through a reboot, i power off the Windows 7 VM and take a snapshot.
I then go through View administrator and create my application pool as per the admin guide.
My provisioned VM gets created and started automatically, however i receive an error in the status (see VMware_Admin_status.jpg)
that says "View Composer agent initialization state error (-65535): View composer agent is not installed in the master VM (waited 0 seconds).
I am using VMware-viewagent-x86_64-4.5.0-293049.exe.
Any help would be appreciated
Phillip,
Something to do with your Windows7 Template. Follow the guidelines in "Creating and Preparing Virtual Machines" in the admin user guide found in... http://www.vmware.com/pdf/view45_admin_guide.pdf.
My initial install did not show any of the features but after following the admin guide recommendation, then all feature showed up.
Thanks.
Collin
I managed to have got the option now, i have basically created a new Windows 7 VM, installed VMware Tools and then ran the VMware View Agent and now i get the Composer Option
Thanks for your help.
Good.
Thanks,
Collin
