Default Printer

We use Oki data printers to print multipart forms out of a back office application that are attached locally to Wyse thin clients and redirect into the VM that the user uses through View. These Oki's are only used for this back office application and network laser printers are used for all other printing.

The default printer is reset to the Oki everytime that the user logs in, creating tons of problems when they just hit print and don't select the Laser printers. I can only assume that this has to do with the fact that the system must assume that the user would want to print to the local printer.

How do I disable this from happening and force the Laser to be the default everytime?

Thanks,

Trevor

Your only touching the tip of the iceburg. The problem is in loss to the USB device, all of the PCoIP clients have this issue. You can fix your specific problem by creating a VB script that will fix the default printer issue. I have a SysAdmin here that wrote one if you'd like me to post it, basically it just looks for the current name of the default printer and changes it if it not "Dell".

The majority of our clients at the moment are the Wyse S10's which do not use the PCoIP protocol. If you could, the post of your Sys Admin's script may be helpful though.
