I have created a pool of 10 virtual desktops on WIN 7 64bit enterprise with 2 vCPU's and 4GB of RAm and the video playback from a USB DVD drive a very choppy. Youtube high HD works well and Windows media player file work well (not awsome, but good in full screen 720p) is this to be expected when trying to watch DVD's over a USB DVD drive on a View 5 desktop or is there something I should be looking at?
I would say that this would be expected and avoided as far as possible.
If you think about it a bit then what actually happends is that all that data needs to be encoded into the USB redirection over the LAN/WAN into the vDesktop, processed by the CPU and then sent back with PCoIP to the client again...

Ditto Linjo,
DVD Playback over USB is a non-supported feature. At least I know it is with a Zero Client (which is the hardware form of PCoIP) so I can't imagine the SOftware version of PCoIP would be able to support it. However if you are using a Zero Client the latest firmware just got a 2-3x bump in USB performance so it may be worth a shot. Regardless i haven't heard that this is supported. There is just too much bandwidth needed in the USB channel to see DVD play in real time, I mean it would work but it would be very choppy.

Thanks Linjo,
This was the answer I thought I would get but just checking to see if anyone out there had got it working. It almost works in my environment, but just not well enough to enjoy watching, every second frame is missing
