Cloud Pod Architecture

Two questions on CPA.

1. Can we have a federation with horizon 6 and 7.9 - don't ask Smiley Happy

2. Does the blast protocol work with CPA?  We do have some users making use of the browser connection to get to a Horizon desktop.

thanx...

Mixed-version Cloud Pod Architecture environments are supported beginning with Horizon 7 version 7.4. For example, a pod federation can include pods that are running Horizon 7 version 7.4 and pods that are running Horizon 6 version 6.x.

New features do not work in a mixed-version environment. For example, a new feature that is visible in Horizon Administrator for a Horizon 7 version 7.4 Connection Server instance is not visible in Horizon Administrator for a Horizon 6 version 6.x Connection Server instance. VMware recommends that you upgrade all pods to the same Horizon 7 versi

Does the blast protocol work with CPA?

What did you mean?

VMware Blast Extreme is published after the release of VMware Horizon 7.0 in march 2016 for an H.264 capable device.

Also, Cloud Pod Architecture is introduced with Horizon 7 too and with every release of 7.x, VMware fix some of its limitations. I think you may have problem in integration with an older version of View like 6.0 with Horizon 7.9

Protocol settings depend on Connection server and VDI Pool setup. If you have HTML access enabled for your VDI Pool, Blast Extreme can be used. This has no related with CPA. In case if you are using global entitlment, Blast protocol is still supported
