Hello all,
I was wondering is there a way to disable client redirect for just the C: drive. We are looking to implement Dell Wyse Thin Clients and I don't want users to be able to save data to the Thin Client (because it will be deleted on the next reboot) but I do want them to be able to use USB drives. So far I can only seem to either allow both or disable both.
*bump bump bump it up*
Does anyone know if doing the following for every drive letter but the ones I want to exclude (C and Z), that would stop the C and Z drive from being shareable to the VM while allowing end-users to still use USB devices?
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\ForcedByAdmin=true
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\permissions=rw
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\default shares\f1\name=A:\
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\default shares\f2\name=B:\
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\default shares\f3\name=D:\
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\default shares\f4\name=E:\
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\default shares\f5\name=F:\
etc.
Based on:
Use Registry Settings to Configure Client Drive Redirection (vmware.com)
Hello. Did you have any luck with this?
We're also in the same environment but can't figure out how to disable the local drive (C) redirection.
Thanks
