Cannot see templates for automated pool - Datastore in View Dashboard empty

Hi all,

I have 2 View servers 4.6 tied to the same vCenter.

Those 2 View servers are independent from each other.

When creating automated (non-linked) pool, available templates show in one of the View servers but not in the other.

What might be the reason I cannot see templates in the second View server?

Probably related:

Dashboard of the first View server shows all hosts and datastores that are under vCenter, but the second View server shows just vCenter and no datastores nor hosts.

Thank you

Ok, seems to be the issue of permissions.

For the second View I was using user with priviledges created based on http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102096...

If I assign vCenter to View using administrator priviledges it works, templates and datastores are visible.

If I assign vCenter to View using user with priviledges as in the document above, templates are not visible.

What am I missing, which additional priviledges I need to add to the user to get templates and datastores visible?

Due to environment I do not want to use administrator account.

Thanks

well time to close the thread.

User sould be created on the higher level, datacenter or cluster, not on vCenter server as stated in the article.

Sorry for eating up the board space.
