Cannot install guest operating system

Hi,

I am a new user for VMware. When I install the guest operating system (WinXP professional) to a virtual machine, the error shows "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer."

I am not sure that is ESX server setting issue or Virutal Machine setting issue.

Does someone here hlep me to fix this issue?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Mtang,

This is likely because you are not using the Buslogic driver at

install time for Windows XP. Make sure the BusLogic SCSI adapter is

selected and then mount the floppy image (in the vmimages folder on

the ESX host) to the VM. After it starts setup hit F6 to select the

driver from the floppy and then continue.

These instructions should be in the Guest Operating System guide found

in the VI documentation section.

Please post VI questions in the VI forum as this may not be the best

place to get the info you need.

Regards,

Mike
