Hello all
i have already VC 2.5 u4 with many ESX 3.5 u3 Servers deployed in HA DRS env.
i just added 2 ESX for deploying "Vmware View" - but i can't tell the connector to use a preffred ESX servers.
Is it possible ?
Do i need to install a diffrent VC for deploying VDI soloution ?
thanks
amir
Maybe you can create a second cluster in the VC with the 2 new host and configure the View to use that particular cluster
Bart
No you Can't.
If you look in the View Configuration :
You see only the option to add Virtual Center , and there is no option to filter wich ESX to USED.
If you got more option please write them, I do not want to buy New VC server !!

I think the other poster was saying to continue using the same VirtualCenter box but create a seperate ESX cluster inside VC that includes the ESX host to be used for VDI. This way when deploying desktops you can use this VDI cluster for deployment.

Yes, your existing VC will work just great. When you build your pools you have optoins to pick just a single ESX server or more than one or better yet a Cluster.
Camek,
That's exactly what we did. I have 3 ESX host running our servers and they are in a Cluster within VC. We added 2 extra ESX hosts for our VDI solution and added them to VC as a seperate cluste within VC. When we deploy a VM it's then easy to pick which cluset to place it in depending if it's a server or desktop VM.

Yes, that was it that I was trying to say.
In the existing Virtual center, create a new ESX cluster and use that one.
Sorry if I didn't put it more clear.
