We have numerous users currently "hot desking" at various workstations. A problem that we have is that users often leave their windows locked and then disappear to another site. This leads to other users then being excluded from that workstation as it is locked or forcing the previous user to log off (often leading to loss of any unsaved work).
Can Virtual Desktop/ View solve this problem for us? How would users log in and out of terminals without being inconvenienced by locked windows from absent users?
You can choose to terminate the session, put the VM in standby or power-off the VM.
For example, see page 74 of http://www.vmware.com/pdf/view31_manual.pdf

You can set a timeout for the View session.
But you can do also in Windows with a GPO.

Will the timeout save the session (e.g. like a snapshot) or will it terminate the session completely and all unsaved data will be lost the same as logging off windows on a physical machine?
Thanks
Chris
