CTL ALT DEL Screen - Windows 7 x64 View 6 Standard

We run Windows 7 x64 VDIs on VIEW 6 Standard on ESXi 6.0U2

We use persistent, dedicated desktops (no linked clones)

We use DELL WYSE thin clients

Problem - on one particular desktop, SSO is only partially working.

It's quite bizarre, but what happens is as follows:

1. User logs in on any of our thin clients

2. Authentication works fine, and user is asked to select a desktop (she has more than one)

3. A session is established, but, instead of arriving at her Desktop, she arrives at a Windows screen reading PRESS CTL ALT DEL to Login

4. Tapping CTL ALT DEL causes the Desktop to appear, without a requirement to (re-)enter credentials.

I have looked at VMware KB suggesting a modification to the CTL ALT DEL local security policy, and tried that solution, but it doesn't help.

Additionally, the symptoms above occur whether the Session is a new session (logging in having logged off) or an existing session (reconnecting).

This problem has arisen quite recently but as far as I am aware, the only changes that have been made to the VDI guest is the installation of several Windows Updates for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.2.

Would be grateful for any troubleshooting ideas.

thanks

I'm building a new environment at a customer and running into the same issue.

Working through a Windows Update stepped install approach as it does seem to be a Windows Update issue from what I can see.

Have an open SR with GSS and will post an update when I have more information.

Hope you get this resolved soon yourself.
