I am curious to hear what other people are doing for CD and DVD ROMs. We were buying usb drives for users when needed but now that our enviroment has skyrocket we need to re examine.
I was thinking of buy two of cd nas boxes for each of our data centers, http://www.primearray.com/products/netserv_cd_dvd_server.php
In our environment, we have few users that need these drives on a regular basis. Therefore, we are recommending that each department buy only one or two drives to be shared. This eliminates the dependency on the IT department and keeps equipment costs down. In fact, we tout the fact that the elimination of the hundreds of mostly unused PC-based CD-ROM drives as part of the "green" nature of the thin clients. Hope that helps.
