BusLogic or LSI for Windows XP?

Hi folks!

Can somebody tell me which controller driver is better for Windows XP deployments for VDI? ¿BusLogic or LSI?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Randy

one thing you should consider when setting up the VM. When you deploy it initially, you have to deploy it as a custom VM, otherwise by default you will be given the BusLogic driver. During the custom install choose the LSI, then boot it up, mount your OS CD/ISO and hit f6 when prompted. Mount the .flp file and you should be good.

If that doesn't work, deploy using BusLogic with the same method and you could always change to LSI post deployement if you'd like.

Attached is the BusLogic Driver and a link on how to change it to LSI

Also, I have attached the LSI Driver I use in my enviornment

Hope this helps a bit.

LSI is recommended for Windows XP , Windows 2003 and Vista

Buslogic is default for Windows NT and Windows 2000

Hi Again Folks,

My last question was because I need a advice from you guys. I am preparing my self for my first big VDI

deployment in about one month. I need to deploy 200 virtual desktops

and I am following your document "Windows XP Deployment Guide"

In the page 2. (Download the LSI 53C1030 drivers from the LSI Web site)

I have a problem with the LSI drivers.

What I did was to download the files from this location

and selected the OS as Windows XP V 1.26.05

In that, I just selected the XP OS and made a flp image. Now, when I

try to install this image, from the floppy to the XP, VM it gets

installed but, WinXP Professional setup says it did nto find any hard

disk drivers installed in your system.......

Then, I found that I may use a different driver. So I found in another site that some folks where using the LSI20320-R. So, I downloaded the LSI20320-R and I found that is the same driver that the LSI 53C1030 because both drivers are the same zip file. (symmpi_SCSI_WinXP_P12_12605.zip)

Here are the links:

http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/products_home/host_bus_adapters/scsi_hbas/lsi20320r/index.html#Drive... (for XP)

http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/products_home/standard_product_ics/scsi_ics/lsi53c1030/index.html (for XP)

So I am unable to continue. Can I download the 20320 from a different site? Any advice?

In this case, Do I miss something? Can you give me an idea???

I really appreciate your help!

During the install process, press F6 when it tells you to, to add the driver from your mounted floppy drive.

Unless I'm missing something....
