Bitlocker to go on View 4.5 runing Windows 7 Enterprise - is it supported?

Has anybody managed to get Bitlocker to go to encrypt a USB flash drive running Windows 7 virtual desktops? We have removable drives protected by Bitlocker in group policy for FAT clients and need to maintain the same policy for virtual desktops. When a flash disk is entered into the client device, Windows asks whether you want to encrypt the drive or not, if you select yes you get a Bitlocker Access Denied message. The same thing happens if you right-click on the drive from my computer and click on "turn on bitlocker".

Windows can read previously encrypted drives it just can't encrypt them which is no good.

At the moment I'm thinking this is a USB redirection limitation so curious as to whether anybody else has got this to work?

thanks...

When using the View Client - what protocol method are you using, RDP or PCoIP - I will make a wild guess and say RDP...

Here's a neat article about the difference when it comes to USB redirection http://thinkvirt.com/?q=node/191

Hope this helps!

On your Virtual Desktop, do you have the following registry key?

HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\RemovableStorageDevices\AllowRemoteDASD = 1 (REG DWORD)
