BSOD - npfs.sys

I'm having an issue with one of my desktop pools where a few users seem to get semi-regular BSODs caused by npfs.sys.  It seems to be limited to about 5-6 users (out of 30).  KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xf780b71d, 0xb5c70b68, 0x00000000)

It's so inconsistent as to be maddening - last night, I had a box that has been up and stable for a month get this same blue screen twice.  It doesn't seem to be related to anything on the back end, I haven't seen any contention for any resources on the cluster. I figure that it has to be something in the image that I'm missing, but I've rebuilt the master image from the ground up and the problem keeps coming back.  Also unable to pin the problem down to a specific application on the box, sometimes it happens when the user isn't doing anything.

Basic specs are as follows:

Windows XP SP3 guest, View Composer Linked Clone

VMware View 4.0 agent (connecting with View 4.0 client using RDP)

10GB HDD (LSI Logic Parallel controller)

2GB RAM (one of the boxes with the issue has 3GB RAM)

1 virtual processor

Any ideas?
