Assigning Applications in a desktop pool for specific user group

Hey Guys,

I have question, might be very basic.

We have a master image named: GOLDEN IMAGE.

3 desktop Pools: 1) Student

                            2) Staff

                            3) Guest

All three are using same Golden Image.

Client Requirement is,

1) Applications like Adobe, office should be available across all desktop Pool

2) Applications like Visio, Project should be available only to Staff.

How can we achieve this using a single Golden Image?

Is it possible?

Any help would be appreciated.

Look into an application layering/delivery tool like VMware own App Volumes (Are you already licensed for this?) or Liquidware FlexApp. For your size the cost might not make sense and you would be better off just having multiple images.

With User Environment tooling, for example VMware UEM, you can create Start Menu shortcuts based on Conditions.

A condition can be a member of a certain AD group, for example.

With VMware UEM you can also block access to certain executables and folders.

This way users cannot browse to the location and start the application manually.

Thanks BenFB and ArnoM,

Since we have a advanced license multiple Master Image seemed like a better option.
