Question 1 : One of my appstack have 40 assignments and I need to create a new appstack with the same assignments. Is it possible to transfer the assignments only from one appstack to another.
One of the possible way to achieve it is, by updating the appstack as it clones your existing appstack with assignments intact. During update process, you can uninstall the existing application and install the new apps that you want to capture. Technically this process will work however in some case depending upon application and no. of apps you are capturing it may not work. However you can give it a try.
Question 2 : Is it possible to unassign users from a particulat group assigned to an appstack.
Yes.You can remove the user from AD group.
Hi,
1: As far as I know that is not possible when using the GUI. Maybe it is possible to automate this using the RESTAPI. Maybe you can create an AD group for this users/groups and nest all these to this group.
2. In this case you have to remove the users from the group. Or when you use appvolumes 2.x .... you can limit the appstack to some specific computers.. (This is only usable when these users are using VM's with a another naming pattern than the other users)
Hi Shreyskar,
1. I will give it a try, but the template ver on the appstack does not change and snapvol.cfg wont change after the udpate.
2. It is not possible to omit from AD group.
