AppVol Customized Writable-Volume Issues

Horizon: 7.11

AppVol: 2.18.2

DEM: 9.10

I have been attempting to customize a writable-volume UIA only for a few days now without much success. The writable continues to store all new applications installed on the instant clone in the writable.  I can see them persist through rebuilds, and by downloading the users writable vmdk  and looking under SVROOT.

I followed this KB:  VMware Knowledge Base

Also at the advice of another post in the community have simplified my snapvol.cfg to this as I am only attempting to store Windows Search and the OST file on it. I am currently using DEM to map the OST.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated, have also reached out to VMware Support but we are early in the SR.

Do you intend to create a custom writable to include only OST files in it?

My initial thought was to allow UEM built-in OST redirection to handle that part of it. I imagine it wouldn't be hard to adjust the config file to include the OST location if needed.  In the interim, I have removed UEM settings that adjust where the OST file is written to try to narrow down where my actual problem is. Am still able to elevate and install software on instant-clone machines and it persist across rebuilds.

Upon downloading and inspecting the user writable-volume I can see the application installed, even though the snapvol.cfg appears correct.

FYI - In the event that anyone comes upon this post at a later day.  Changing the scope at the top form =global to =volume has seemed to stabilize the system.
