Any official support about View 5 and Cisco IP Communicator?

I've read at Cisco IP C. release notes that it doesn't support VMware, but some people told me that View 5 supports it.

What is the official truth? please help because I have a customer asking me about it

Thanks in advanced

Not sure if this will help or not:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Data_Center/VXI/CVD/VXI_CVD_VMware.html

I haven't run into someone running VoIP through View.  There are ways to have it run parrellel to View, which is what I have done.  IE put the soft phone software on the local terminal.  The link above isn't IP Communicator, its Ciscos hardware line that works with View.  And this works great, I've used that.  So IMO its either buy into the Cisco hardware solution (which is a Zero Client backpack on a phone).  Or just go thinclient and install a soft phone locally and don't have it run through View.

However those solutions existed prior to View 5.  And View 5 specifically says:

View Media Services for Integrated Unified Communications enables an integrated VOIP and View desktop experience for the end-user with an architecture to provide optimized performance for both the desktop and unified communication.

I'd love to hear what you come up with.

I am not sure about the support question but I do know that my testing today with Client 5.1.1 workds with IPC 8.6 using Teradici's audio driver:

Works fantasitcally well.  IPC prompts the user for audio tuning.  I have been testing it between the US and India and it is crytal clear with NO loss.

Enjoy!
