Hi, anyone have any links or recommendations to upgrade View 5.0 to 5.1 for the less experienced ?
I have 2 VMware VDI hosts each housing about 20 Win7 vPCs.
- VMware View vCenter is on a Virtual Machine on another set of servers (Windows 2008 r2, 2vCPU, 8GB RAM, SQL 2008 Std)
- VMware View composer & connection manager is on a Virtual Machine on another set of servers (Windows 2008 r2, 2vCPU, 4GB RAM)
Sure there is:

How about the official View 5.1 Upgrade guide?

I tried reading that.....it seems like it would take months to complete.
BTW, we just implemented our View 5.0 2 mths back. The vendor took 2 weeks to set up.
That is not my experience, as long as you have done the prework and understand the new certificate requirements then its smooth sailing.
Have assisted with a number of upgrades and most of them took a few hours only.

The document is easily 40 pages long.....
Just reading that takes a few hours....
Is there a short version....
Something like :
1. Upgrade ESX
- download XXX
- run XXXX
2. Upgrade vCenter
- shutdown O/S
- run XXXXX
- Startup O/S
3......
4......
